From Fins to Paws, Dolphins to Dogs
Lindy Langum, BS, CCS
I'm not a self-taught trainer you may find elsewhere that may just repeat something they've seen on tv or read in a couple of books. I have formal education and experience in animal behavior and training. I have a degree in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in animal behavior. I've been challenged by marine animal training and husbandry internships through Dolphin Quest Oahu and the Navy Marine Mammal Program. I'm Certified in Canine Studies through the Northwest School of Canine Studies. I've trained many animal species, and am a dog ambassador! I am also fortunate to be a part of Summit Assistance Dogs as the puppy raiser class instructor and am one of many who provide a foster home for service dogs in training. Summit is a nonprofit organization that creates life-changing partnerships by providing highly-skilled mobility service dogs for people living with disabilities.
You can find me training tricks with my rescue pit bull terrier, Houdini, competing in agility with my standard poodle, Boudreaux and thanking my very patient husband for letting us open our home in North Lynnwood to client dogs and service dogs in training.
My training style - I love sharing with owners what I've learned from my education, multi-species training, and 7 years of owner/dog relationship building, training, and observations to bring you some help and fun for you and your dog. I focus on scientifically proven reward-based training and behavior modification techniques that can be applied and used to train many animal species. I treat each dog as an individual so we can use their strengths and motivations to help them learn appropriate behaviors. Training your dog results in a peaceful household and a strengthened bond between you and your canine, as you learn to interact and clearly communicate with each other. You can expect to work with your dog, do your homework, and I'll make sure you have fun along the way.
Extra Biscuit: I love making dog obstacles out of PVC pipe - ask and I can make!
K9 Fun Club activities & classes take place throughout Snohomish and King County. Lindy does offer training sessions and boarding at her home in N. Lynnwood. You will be given more information when your session or boarding appointment is scheduled.
